Another wish Granted and what a difference it will make to this group

This event has been running for three years now raising funds for Dream Catcher and rewarding our everyday heroes in our community but this year was certainly the best.
Heres some pics from the night see if you can spot your Hero.

Pictured above is Mr Ray Johnstone Dream Catcher’s official superstar of 2012.
Mr Johnstone is a retired social worker and this year had decided to put his newly found free time to good use and hopes to raise a whopping amount for The Dream Catcher Appeal by reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Over the last few months i have worked very closely with Mr Johnstone and whilst putting in the hours for training and funding the cost of the trip from his own pocket he is determined that he will raise his target of £5000.00.
Ray suffers from Post-traumatic stess disorder as a result of his past experiences of being in the Army and is hoping to raise awareness of the condition whilst planning his trip.
Ray is looking forward to the challange which entails climbing a 5,895 metre summit of Mount Kilimanjarno in Tanzania with a group of fellow trekkers from the UK.
Ray likes the scope of The Dream Catcher Appeal in the fact that all monies raised and donated provide goods and services for people and charities only on the Isle Of Man and this is why he has decided to donate all funds raised on this trip to this wonderful cause.

Mr Ian Cottier was the highest bidder in The Big Shout auction 2010 for Dream Catcher and today had the pleasure of turning on the Laxey Wheel for the start the season.
His family came along and a fun day was had by all. Crackers suffered a little vertigo and decided to wait at the bottom to meet the family. What a wonderful view we had from the top of the wheel and Mr Cottier and his Grandson did a great job of making the wheel turn.

Dream Catcher’s very own Crackers took great pleasure in handing over this new windows 7 laptop to Jo Dixon of the Douglas Live at home scheme.
The scheme applied for help to the Dream Catcher in February for the laptop to help the volunteers of the charity
co-ordinate visits to the elderly people enrolled on the scheme. Dream Catcher provided £500.00 for this cause and Manx Radio’s engineers purchased the laptop and installed the required applications.

Such a sucess first time around a 2nd charity bingo night will be taking place at the Palace Hotel Kurrsal on the 1st November 2011.

April 8th 2011 is officially Super Hero Day!
Why not join schools and organisations on the Isle Of Man taking part in this day and turn up for work or school wearing your favourite Super Hero outfit !
April 8th is the day for this whilst raising money for our fantasic charity. Manx Radio will be travelling around the island on that day to as many schools and offices taking part.

Shoprite Chester Street charity bucket  collected £18.12  on the till for one month well done Shoprite staff and Thank you.

Body & Mind ladies gym staff held a half price gym membership day at the Strand Shopping centre on Saturday 15th January.

 Crackers The Dream Catcher cat was there collecting too and raised £37.45. Thank you very much.
