Manx Radio Dreamcatcher Trust

The Big Shout 2010

On Saturday 30th October 2010 the Dream Catcher Appeal held its annual fundraiser at the Villa Marina Gardens. The Manx Radio All-Stars set up shop for the live music fun day with Punch and Judy, live music, face painters, Crackers the Dream Catcher Cat and Chris Williams in a bath of beans!

Manx Radio broadcast live from 10.30am, holding the world’s biggest jukebox with requests and dedications a-plenty and with prizes like Liverpool football signed by the 1st team thanks to 188 Foundation and a McLaren Mercedes T shirt signed by Formula One racing Driver Lewis Hamilton courtesy of Santander we had the best On-Air auction yet.

The total raised is estimated to be just over £9000, so a huge thank you everyone involved, and here comes the roll call of honour! Many thanks to:

Sure Mobile for providing the Sure Fun Fields,

Manx Marquees for erecting the Marquee for the bands to play,

Shoprite for having Dream Catcher buckets in-store for the BIG SHOUT week,

Mannin Media for partnering the fundraiser with their Manx Life Exhibition,

Pacesetter and Tesco for providing the bath and beans for Chris Williams to bathe in.

Many thanks to bands who took part, providing a great atmosphere for the whole day:

Strengyn
Clara Barker
Maldune
Abrasive Melody
The Chris Flood Band
Grambo
Represent Dance Company

The Mollag Band

A Little Bitta Rosie
Stalking Heads

You were all fantastic!

We also need to extend special thanks to:-

·         Port Erin Dental Surgery, who raised a phenomenal amount of money by donating all payments for the scale and polish treatments throughout the BIG SHOUT week to Dream Catcher, and also had buckets in the Surgery.

·         Charlie Cover and family and friends for holding an “all are welcome darts match” held in The Peveril Public House in Peel, with a raffle.

·         The MEA for holding a Halloween fancy dress, cake sale and raffle.

·         The members of the public who kindly donated and to those that put some change in a bucket at your nearest Shoprite.

A huge thank you also to the businesses and individuals who supplied Auction prizes for the On-Air auction and instant raffle:
